Perform collections of accounts that are past due. Compile and maintain Accounts Receivable records.
Collections Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.
Writes letters or approves form letters for use in collection attempts.
Verify accuracy of accounts.
Authorizes or refers accounts to Manager for repossession and legal actions against debtors.
May assists other collectors with collection activities in difficult cases.
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.
Adjusts errors and complaints.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in applying daily deposit of payments received.
Request and post various adjustments to customer accounts.
Assist with various month end close processes.
Assist with special accounting projects as necessary.

Education & Skills
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
