Our dedicated team of myopia experts only focused on our myopia management solution - MiYOSMART, allowing them to driving gowth via education & selected in-store support. Our myopia consultants are educated to a deeper level on Myopia so they can confidently support your practice staff with:
  • CPD accredited training
  • Team training on myopia and MiYOSMART, so all staff feel confident to support the patient journey
  • Training programs: technical, category, product, patient journey & sell-out.
Currently our focus is in practice, but our Myopia Consultants will start to engage with hospitals in FY25.

Laura Walker

 Laura has been in the Optics / Ophthalmology world for over 12 years!

She has dispensing / store based experience, worked as an Orthoptist for over 4 years in NHS hospitals and gained several years experience in Opthalmology medical technology.

"Working in practice as a qualified Dispensing Optician I experienced first-hand the effect that myopia has on children and their parents – this has grown my passion for myopia and the future of Myopia Management.

As a mid to high myope myself, I have a unique understanding of the journey these patients go on. I further progressed my career within the Ophthalmic lens manufacturing industry, where I gained extensive knowledge regarding spectacle lenses and experience in educating practice staff how to communicate to patients on how to make the best and most informed choice for themselves and their children."

Myopia Consultant West

"I graduated from the University of Manchester with an Optometry degree in 2017. Since qualifying, I have continued to further my education and have undertaken several post-graduate qualifications, including qualifications in glaucoma, medical retina and low vision. I have utilised these skills while working in multiple and independent sectors. I am passionate about myopia control and have recently joined Hoya Vision Care as the myopia consultant for the West region.
