At HOYA Vision Care, we believe every story of better vision is a story of hope. This World Sight Day, we’re proud to share how our colleagues in India brought that hope to their communities through our One Vision, Many Stories series.
From Mumbai’s dedicated Dabbawallas and the Mumbai Police to the classrooms of Chennai, our HOYA Vision Care India teams came together with one purpose: making quality vision care accessible to all.
Caring for Mumbai’s Everyday Heroes
In collaboration with Lotus College of Optometry, our India team conducted over 300 free eye screenings for Traffic Police and “Dabbawalas” — the heartbeats that keep Mumbai moving. These heroes received comprehensive eye tests, and those needing vision correction were provided with prescription spectacles. For our teams, it was more than just an eye check-up — it was a way to say thank you to those who serve Mumbai, tirelessly.
Bringing Clearer Vision to Young Dreamers
Partnering with the India Vision Institute (IVI), the team at HOYA Vision Care India reached out to students from government and corporation schools in Chennai. Around 2,000 children will have their vision screened and about 150 will receive spectacles. Because when children can see clearly, they can dream bigger, live fuller lives and have brighter futures.
Extending Care to Every Corner of the Community
Together with IAPB and India Vision Institute, the team organized an eye check-up camp at Shree Saradha Sakthi Peetham, Tambaram, reaching 100+ students and staff. For many, it was their first-ever eye examination, for us at HOYA Vision Care, it’s our small contribution to helping them change how they see the big world.
Show some appreciation for our HOYA Vision Care India -One Vision Ambassadors. And a special Thank you to Sriram Jagdale and Dimpy Chakrabarti for sharing these wonderful stories.
