We aim to support communities, reduce environmental impact and create a safe & diverse workspace. We've gathered some of the amazing initiatives from our people around the world.
As part of their annual recognition of Environmental Week, employees of HOYA Vision Care Brazil recently launched a re-forestation initiative, joining forces to plant 140 trees across Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo.
Providing an immunity boost for HOYA Vision Care employees in Thailand
At HOYA, our mission is to provide health through vision, for all. That’s why recently, a vision screening campaign was launched by HOYA Lens India, inviting commercial vehicle drivers to get their sight checked.
Our ambition is to reduce our environmental footprint on a global scale. We’re saving energy by constantly driving efficiencies in our operations and an ever-increasing switch to renewable energy sources. Our aim is to reach 100% renewable electricity by 2040, if not sooner, with an interim target of at least 60% by 2030. We are also working to significantly reduce our environmental impact of water usage and packaging through initiatives that focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling, throughout our operations and offices around the world.
Over 2.2 billion people are living with vision loss, yet over 1 billion of these cases could have been avoided with early detection and treatment. We, as HOYA Vision Care, are committed to bridging the vision health gap through our global partnership with Orbis providing communities around the world with access to sight-saving interventions and increasing eye-health literacy and education. These are supported by a range of local initiatives that focus on key areas that other companies don’t. These are driven by colleagues, Eye Care Professionals, and other stakeholders, together with numerous local outreach initiatives for and with our communities.
