As part of their annual recognition of Environmental Week, employees of HOYA Vision Care Brazil recently launched a re-forestation initiative, joining forces to plant 140 trees across Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo.
Arising from the One Vision programme, the initiatve was idealized by HOYA Brazil’s HSE/QA Manager, Mrs. Fabiola Hamaoka.
Taking place in June, the tree-planting project brought all hands-on deck, with employees being joined by their families to collectively sow the seeds of the future.

The trees planted during Environmental Week are a symbol of our shared responsibility in creating a better tomorrow, while serving a strong practical role: it’s estimated that in just one year, a mature tree will absorb more than 48lbs of CO ₂, releasing oxygen in exchange.
