The rainy season brings with it a lot more than heavy downpours. That’s why HOYA Vision Care Thailand recently organized on-site influenza vaccinations for employees, preparing their health for the months ahead.
Outbreaks of the influenza virus are far more likely between June and October due to the higher humidity and greater time spent inside. A new mutation of the virus has been found to trigger respiratory infections – however, annual and regular vaccinations can help prevent 70-90% chance of developing the disease, and reduce severity of complications, which lowers chances of hospitalization and death.
In order to help our employees protect themselves against illness during the rainy season, in May, HOYA organized an on-site vaccination centre at our office in Thailand, making it easier for employees who wanted to receive the influenza vaccination to do so. An incredible 1,169 employees participated in the vaccination initiative – and we wish all of our employees good health!
